Japanese traditional castle (2)

Ninomaru Palace (the World heritage!) inside the castle was where the SHOGUN(the general) received envoys from the Imperial Court, so it was adorned with lavish decorations. the distance from the first gate to the tower(TENSYUGAKU) is just 130 metres. However, attackers trying to reach it, would have to climb a route at least three times longer.
